Making $20k from my couch (and feeling weird about it)

Hey there friend,

Last month I made $23,000 in TikTok Shop commissions.

I did it from my house.

In sweatpants.

And honestly? It still feels a little weird.

Let me paint you a picture of my "workday" yesterday:

7:30am: Wake up, check my overnight sales on my phone while still in bed ($731 in commissions)

8:00am: Hit the gym for an hour

9:30am: Take Luna (my dog) for a walk around the neighborhood

11:00am: Start "work" - film 6 TikTok videos in my living room (took 45 minutes)

1:00pm: Coach a few of my affiliate students, work on my program

2:30pm: Check analytics, reply to comments

3:00pm: Done with work for the day

The rest of my day was just... living my life.

Grabbed lunch, hung out with Luna, did whatever I wanted.

Meanwhile, my videos are getting views, people are buying products, and money is hitting my account.

It's the most surreal feeling in the world.

My old coworkers are sitting in meetings about quarterly projections and I'm making more money than they are by talking to my phone camera for less than an hour.

Don't get me wrong - I'm grateful.

But sometimes I catch myself thinking "this can't be real."

Like, I made $1,200 yesterday and the hardest part of my day was deciding which product to make a video about.

I ran into an old coworker last week.

He asked what I'm doing now, if I found a "real job" yet.

Dude, I made more money last month than you make in four months at your "real job."

But I get it.

It doesn't look like work.

It doesn't feel like work.

And that's exactly why most people will never do it.

They think if it's not painful, stressful, or soul-crushing, it's not legitimate.

They'd rather complain about their boss for 40 hours a week than spend 3-4 hours a day building something that could replace their entire salary.

I used to be the same way.

When I was at my tech sales job, I thought "real work" meant sitting in an office, wearing business casual, and having back-to-back Zoom calls.

I measured my worth by how busy and stressed I was.

The busier I looked, the more important I felt.

Now I realize that was completely backwards.

The goal isn't to work harder.

It's to work smarter.

The goal isn't to be busy.

It's to be effective.

The goal isn't to suffer for your money.

It's to build systems that make money while you sleep.

My "weird" feeling about making $20k from my house isn't because I don't deserve it.

It's because I was programmed to believe that money has to be hard to earn.

That's bullshit.

Money is just a reward for solving problems.

TikTok Shop lets me solve people's problems (helping them find products they need) at scale.

One video can help thousands of people discover a product that improves their life.

And I get paid for that value.

The fact that I can do it in sweatpants from my living room doesn't make it less legitimate.

It makes it genius.

If you're still trading hours for dollars at a job you hate, here's my question:

What are you waiting for?

Permission to stop suffering for your paycheck?

I'm giving it to you right now.

You don't need to sit in traffic to make money.

You don't need a boss breathing down your neck.

You don't need to pretend to be busy in meetings that could have been emails.

You can build something that works for you instead of the other way around.

And yeah, it might feel weird at first.

Making money shouldn't be this easy, right?

Wrong.

Easy money is the best kind of money.

Kade
